August Newsletter

Ionata has had a strong year so far allowing us to grow the team and take on some exciting projects.
Fresh off the plane from London, Oliver George brings some great online marketing knowledge to the team. Matthias and James also joined the development team in 2009. This has helped round out the team nicely and we think it shows in our work.
Our 2009 portfolio includes some big projects for Metro Tasmania, Shadforth Financial Group and Business Mentor Services Tasmania. We've also taken on some great e-commerce clients including Millie's Playground and the soon to launch Beauty and the Bees website.

Ionata supports LearnGrow to 'Help the Hungry Feed Themselves'
Posted on Thursday, 25 June 2009 | Permalink
Ionata has been proud to support LearnGrow, a project that helps people in developing countries learn about and grow the best local foods to match their nutritional needs.
In many parts of the world people try to grow crops that are poorly suited to the climate and soil. The Learn◊Grow project is based on the life’s work of Tasmanian Agricultural Scientist, Bruce French, who has comprehensively documented information on the food plants of the world. The food plants database developed by Bruce contains over 18,000 food plants. It includes descriptions of the origin of food plants, growing methods, photos, drawings of the plant and edible parts of the plants, and cooking methods.
Ionata donated web hosting and CMS subscription and also built the website from a fantastic design donated by Kieran Bradley from Workhorse.

Ionata Web Solutions has today launched Wheelies.net.au a homeswapping site for wheelchair users.
Too often holidays are limited for wheelies because of cost and lack of suitable accommodation.
Here is a chance for wheelies to swap houses for holidays they know will be low cost and will be in suitable accommodation with the right facilities.
The brainchild of Sharon Lennox who is living with multiple sclerosis Wheelies.net.au is sponsored by the MS Society of Tasmania and gifted by the Tasmania Community Fund.
Holly Webber provided the graphic design.

New Interactive Metro Tasmania Website
Posted on Thursday, 14 August 2008 | Permalink
Ionata Web Solutions is delighted to announce the public release of the new Metro Tasmania website.
The new website features customisable timetables, interactive route maps and a nearby bus stop search to help locate the bus stops.
Built in semantic HTML the website makes use of media targetted CSS to allow users to view, customise and print timetables.
The website also offers users the opportunity to personalise their experience by creating a MyMetro account. The MyMetro account allows regular users the opportunity to save their frequently used timetables and also to save nearby bus stop searches as 'busmarks'. Busmarks can then be labelled and shared or pasted into a website.
